Dan "Red" Jones

Dan Jones, or best known throughout Hillsborough County as Red, is a fifth generation Floridian. Red joined Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in 2001 and is an active Patrol Master Deputy. He has served as a Law Enforcement Field Training Officer, is an active LEO instructor, a certified Firearms instructor, N.A.T.O instructor and a certified Advanced Tracker, serving as part of HCSO’s SIRT team for 15 years. Red earned HCSO’s Distinguished Service Award in 2012 and a Life Saving Award in 2021.
Red has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and a minor in Psychology. He is a proud local small business owner and had an active rodeo cowboy career starting at the early age of 15 spanning until we was about 21. Red is still very involved in Hillsborough County’s agriculture sector, is an active volunteer with the Cattleman’s Association, a competitive shooter and an avid duck hunter.
Red joined Hook in 2020 with a passion to assist in fulfilling Hook’s mission to help the brave men and women of our local communities who put their lives on the line each and every day.
