SUPPORT FIRST RESPONDERS
Hook-A-Hero is a 100% non-profit 501(c)(3) ran solely by volunteer first responders and civilians. Hook’s purpose is to provide a variety of mental health services, financial support and a peer support network to these American Heroes, and their families, who SERVE and PROTECT.
In addition to providing opportunities for traditional mental health support services, Hook facilitates various outdoor activities to promote engaging opportunities for these Heros. Dealing with the demands and stress of a first responder profession can often feel like an isolating task and too often our Heros feel they must face the challenge alone.
With Hook’s assistance, these Heros can find a sense of belonging in the journey toward RECOVERY and the REDISCOVERY of the purpose and passion in their lives.
It is our desire to be a simple message of hope and inspire those in pain to reach out to their peers and that those of us on the line look around and reach out to those who need it most.
"Not only so, but we also
glory in our sufferings,
because we know that suffering
perseverance produces CHARACTER
and character produces HOPE.
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been
poured into our hearts
through the Holy Spirit,
who has been given to us.
Thrive + Well Therapy
Hook A Hero Foundation is proud to announce our partnership with the Thrive + Well Organization. Therapist / Owner Diana Johnson specializes in providing brief, targeted therapy to individuals to help resolve painful, stressful, and traumatic memories of past events using a combination of mindfulness, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and stress management techniques. It is the practice's goal to help our Hero's and their families get to where they want to be – whether it’s feeling a greater sense of peace from anxiety or trauma, decreased stress at home, or better managing difficult feelings.
Hook A Hero Foundation is proud to announce our partnership with the Chaplaincy Care Organization.
The primary goal of a Chaplaincy Care (C2) is to provide consistent, compassionate, and confidential care to each member of our First Responder agencies within Hillsborough County. These interactions are across a spectrum of beliefs and faith backgrounds. C2 operates as a connection conduit to internal, professional, and community resources to help encourage and advise during difficult decisions. C2 becomes a helpful resource to help First Responders and family members handle life's pressure in a healthy, constructive way. C2 also begins to walk with men and women of faith that are challenged to live their faith fully for the Lord within the daily situations of both work and home.
